New release of Braindump to Notes for Android
Category Android Getting Things Done
I have just released a new version of BrainDump to Notes. Version 2.1 includes some important stuff IMHO.
BrainDump to Notes is an Android application that allows you to quickly get Stuff off your mind, an important part of the Getting Things Done methodology.
You can read more about it and see a demo from when I released version 1: BrainDump to Notes for Android - what is it?.
The new stuff is:
- A bug fix that hopefully removes Force close situations.
- An option for using voice input instead of typing. This of course requires a newer Android version (2.1 and up).
- Support for national characters.
- Support for deleting individual saved notes.
Here is a screen dump:

Have you considered to write this with XPages { Link } ? Then it would work on iPhone as well. Sounds like the only thing you couldn't do yet is the voice input.

Yes, I have considered xPages. I chose the Java language because it is closer to my skill set and because I like native applications better than cross-platform ones.
Mark Hughes has ITANA that does more than my app does, based on xPages. But still, there is something extra useability wise in a native app IMHO.

Other than that (using it on a diff server) it worked well.
Thanks for sharing.

Is there a way to debug the android application. Especially a log of the sync process would be fine as i do get errors during the sync to my Domino server.
Is this app SSL capable?
Thanks a lot.

I implemented the same code that the original poster on StackOverflow put in his post: { Link }
You need to download and include the code that he links to.
The discussion in that StackOverlow discussion is not relevant any more as the code that he links to has been updated to include a fix for the FroYo issue.
So I have both included the code that he links to and I have implemented exactly the same lines that he posted.
What those lines do is that they tell the DefaultHttpClient to accept any SSL certificate that it might meet.

And will there be any support for the blackberry??

This really is just my personal pet project. If I did not own an Android device I would not be doing this. I don't have a Blackberry device - so there won't be a Blackberry app.
